Blog Instructions

All:

Time to get into the 21st century and use this new-fangled internet thingy effectively for our Committee. I've set up this BLOG (which stands for Web-Log) so we can all see what is going on, status of items, what we need, suggest to each other who know what, and work together collaboratively and asynchronously without necessarily having to BE together in the same room.

It's fun to use and learn something new:
This will be a great tool, bu only if it's used. All emails I send out will have a link to this so we can all communicate here. Besides, your sons and daughters are doing this all the time. Put this in your FAVORITES on your browser so you can get to it easily. OR Subscribe to a Feed if you feel so advanced. It will automatically update your brower.

Here is how a blog works:
It's almost like pubishing an online magazine--I write the articles and you all can write letters to the editors, or publish comments to the articles--and we can all see and read them. Instead of massive email chains, we can see what everyone thinks.

Comments
At the bottom of every BLOG, you'll see a link next to a little pencil called COMMENT. That is where you click on and write something that everyone can see. You may be required to start an "Account", but it is as simple as typing your email, giving yourself a password, then adding information.

Archives
This is where we can keep track of each item we're working on and see the status. You will be able to see the archive of all the posts/blogs/articles to track status.

Finally, it's what all the kids are doing and you'll be amazed on how easy it is to communicate.

You are now a blogger!

  1. This is how a comment gets posted. Now everyone can see my contribution to the list.

  2. John,
Judie Scanlon is making some phone calls to followup on the live auction items that are "repeats" from last year. Not all the items have been confirmed with donors, so I will be working on this. I will be at the meeting on Monday night and we can talk more,
